Movers And Shakers Of The Week [18 January – 23 January]

Mukul Singhal and Rohit Jain, two principals at SAIF Partners, have quit the firm to set up an early stage fund. The two, who were leading the seed investments at SAIF Partners, will adopt a similar strategy for their new unnamed venture fund.

At SAIF, Rohit focussed on early stage investments in Internet, Mobile and Software product companies. He worked with companies like AppIterate, TouchTalent, TravelTriangle, Qikwell, Zoomo, Coverfox Insurance, UrbanClap as a board member/observer. Rohit is an IIT-Delhi graduate with an MS from University of North Carolina. He has worked with companies like Microsoft, IBM Research and Google.

Mukul, who is an alumnus of IIT-Kanpur and ISB-Hyderabad, has helped SAIF in early stage investments like ZOVI, FirstCry, Inkfruit, PropTiger, iStream, App Iterate, TouchTalent, TravelTriangle.com, Toppr.com, Zoomo, Qikwell.com and worked with these companies as board member/observer. Prior to joining SAIF, Mukul was with  Silicon Valley-based Canaan Partners.

Ola Appoints Raghuvesh Sarup As Chief Marketing Officer

Ola appointed Raghuvesh Sarup as its Chief Marketing Officer. He will join the company in February and will be part of Ola’s core leadership team. At Ola, he will lead marketing across the brand and P&L for all categories. He has earlier worked with Microsoft, where he was Marketing Director after relocating to India from global stints in Finland in the headquarters of Nokia. He has 21 years of  experience in international and Indian markets for sales, marketing & category management, across Telecom, Retail and Consumer Goods.

Housing Appoints Snehil Buxy As New Chief Product Officer

Housing appointed co-founder, Snehil Buxy, as its new Chief Product Officer. Snehil Buxy was a creator of the original Housing product and will aim to further this vision with a focus on creating products and solutions that will leapfrog the company. He is an IIT Bombay alumnus and one of the co-founders of Housing and the creator of Housing’s early vision and design.

nexGTV announced the appointment of Dushyant Kohli as Head – Growth. He has over 13 years of rich and diverse experience in driving business growth and digital marketing for multiple businesses including leading global freemium social discovery network Wamba.com. His prior stints include associations with companies such as HT Mobile Solutions, Zapak Digital Entertainment and BCCL. He is an MBA in Marketing and IT from École des Ponts Business School France. He has proven track record of identifying and monetizing new opportunities to boost growth both organically as well as via network alliances.
