Bangalore-based bus ticketing and cab booking platform, YatraGenie services Pvt Ltd has raised an undisclosed amount in Series A round of funding from Ash Bhardwaj, an entrepreneur and investor from Silicon valley who will join as a board member at YatraGenie.
The capital raised will be used towards expansion in Karnataka and to increase market base in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The company plans to expand to 100 cities by the end of this year.
Founded in 2013 by Renil Komitla, YatraGenie is an online bus ticketing and cab booking platforms which provides a one stop travel solution to users looking for budget travel options. YatraGenie works on a commission based model.
Within the first six months of its launch, the startup has already clocked 1 lakh cab bookings. Currently, it is operational in 21 cities in Andhra Pradesh and 10 cities in Telangana.
Earlier in March this year, it has also launched its services in Bangalore. Besides, the company plans to expand in 30 district in Karnataka in next few months, this will take the total number of cities it is operational in to 62.
Bookings for the services can be done via its online portal, an android app and via telephone by dialling <area code> 20 20 20 20.
