Snapdeal Founders & Kae Backs Retail Technology Startup Shopsense

Mumbai-based digital technology company, Shopsense, has raised an undisclosed amount in its seed round of funding. The round was led by Kae Capital, and Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal from Snapdeal had also participated in it.

The funds will enable the startup to set up a development team, and help to enhance its technology further.

Founded in 2012 by IIT Bombay alumni Farooq Adam, Harsh Shah and Sreeraman MG, Shopsense, works in developing digital interaction technology and build engagements which promises to make shopping fun and enjoyable. The company uses analytics such customer behaviour to help retailers understand them better.

Shopsense’s flagship product is ‘Match’ which comprises of large capacitive touchscreens at physical stores, enabling customers to browse products, search for new ones and share it with their friends for feedback via email or social networks. Currently, it has been tested at a couple of shops for its pilot run.

Recently, the company launched ‘Fynd’, a fashion app which helps customers to discover and follow the brands of their choice. It’s ‘Fynd a Fit’ feature helps users to try on multiple sizes to find the right fit and promises a quick and easy delivery.

Shopsense plans to expand to Bangalore and Delhi-NCR by the end of the year.
